Well I was having one of those days, you know the crabby nothing is going right kind of day when I decided I would make a little time to watch The Heart of Christmas. Well let me tell you that after watching the movie I stopped my belly-aching! You talk about one of those heart-felt, feel good movies that makes you tear up and smile at the same time. I’m pretty sure I had tears in my eyes for over half the movie. (Don’t let that scare you, I am one of those overly emotional people) It sure did make me, once again, realize that my life feels like a whirlwind spinning out of control and that something needs to be done to slow it down. I always feel like I need to have everything done and done right and alot of people would consider that a good thing but for me it is life consuming. As my mom always said, take time to smell the roses. Sometimes life gets so busy that we don’t even have time to sit down and spend some much needed time with our children. Well, The Heart of Christmas brought my priorities back in order!
I don’t want to tell you to much about the movie but I would like you to know enough, so I am going to share the press release with you below…….
THE HEART OF CHRISTMAS
Based On A True Story, This Touching And Inspirational Family Film
Comes To DVD And Digital Download On October 16, 2012.
Chatsworth, CA – It takes an entire community to make a little boy’s dreams come true in the Image Entertainment release of The Heart of Christmas, the heartbreaking yet hopeful film about a family faced with losing their child and their quest to give him one last Christmas. Based on the inspiring true story that gained national attention, The Heart of Christmas boasts a stellar cast that includes Candace Cameron Bure (“Make It or Break It,” “Full House”), Jeanne Nielson (Faith Like Potatoes), George Newbern (Father of the Bride), and Erin Bethea (Fireproof). The film recently received an Emmy® nomination for Outstanding Lyrics and Music for its title song, composed and performed by Grammy®-nominated singer/songwriter, Matthew West, who is also featured in the film. A wonderful gift for everyone, The Heart of Christmas heads to DVD on October 16, 2012 for an SRP of $27.97.
The Heart of Christmas tells the story of Austin and Julie Locke, who are devastated to learn that their young son, Dax, has been diagnosed with cancer. With courage, determination and faith, they decide to give Dax one last Christmas – even if it has to be in October. When the community sees the holiday decorations and learns the heartbreaking truth, what happens next is a miraculous outpouring of care and support. The Heart of Christmas will touch your heart and bring home the spirit of the holidays.
In 2010, singer/songwriter Matthew West asked his fans to send him their inspiring true stories so he could turn those stories into songs. Among the thousands of submissions he received, there were three separate letters about the Locke family and the community that came together to support them. Moved by the letters, Matthew wrote “One Last Christmas,” which inspired the filmmakers to share the story with an even wider audience. Premiering on GMC last December, The Heart of Christmas became the most-watched World Premiere Movie in the history of the network, drawing 3.6 million viewers.

I would highly suggest watching this movie. I found it to be a very life changing movie. It was sad and uplifting at the same time. It really made you think about how we don’t need to hurry through life and that spending time with family should be your number one priority! Check out the trailer below….

My favorite memories are of years past when we owned a Christmas Tree farm. From Thanksgiving to Christmas we worked as a family to help others find the perfect tree.
My favorite memories of Christmas was making cookies and decorating the tree and family all being together. When you get older and some of your family members have gone to heaven. The memories are all you have left. They are sooooooooooo precios!
I got a car for my 16th Christmas.
My favorite Christmas memory is (hard to pick just one) putting up the Christmas tree and then making and decorating a gingerbread house with my kids.
I remember the Christmas in 1983 when I received a Cabbage Patch Doll. I was so surprised, and I loved it. I still have Elaine Genevieve. Her outfit did not survive, but she is still adorable.
The family get togethers.
baking christmas goodies with my mom
The year I got a doll I really wanted, but thought I was not getting for Christmas!
mine was when my grand parent were alive and gave all kids silver dollar on the day they were born
My fav Christmas memory is from when I was little and we all used to go to my grandmas house to gather around family and eat as well as open presents. There was no fighting and everyone got along. We would have Christmas music playing. I miss those years but now I have my own family to spend it with and see the joy on my kids’ faces that I had when I was their age
My fave Christmas memory is the one year I worked in a group home for LD/BD kids and was able to take one of them home for the holiday to my parents house. Some of these kids had parents and some didn’t. The kids who didn’t have parents were allowed to go to a staff member’s home for the holiday. I was able to take a 7 year old girl to my parents house. She was very well behaved and I was glad that she enjoyed herself. We as staff were given money to buy each child a few gifts. My parents decided they would like to buy her some too. Christmas morning the tree was actually almost hidden by all the presents that “Santa” had brought, lol She of course was thrilled to death and couldn’t believe she had gotten all these gifts. I smile every time I think of her and that Christmas at my parents house.
Is the tweet entry in the form correct? It says we are entering to win a water bottle?

My favorite Christmas memory is last year when my son was excited about opening presents for the first time. He never was excited the years before then.
