It’s Time to String the Popcorn!! My Favorite Holiday Tradition!

Well it’s that time of the year again around our house, time to string the popcorn and cranberries!! We use them as garland on our tree and it’s something we do each and every year. As a matter of fact if I don’t get on the ball as soon as we get the tree up my daughter Alicia will remind me!

Stringing popcorn for our tree is a special time. Time to turn off the TV, computers and gaming devices and spend some real quality time with the family. We all sit around the table with a big bowl of JOLLY TIME  Pop Corn and Habelman Bros. Cranberries and we string away. So I figured I would give you guys a push in the right direction because stringing popcorn is not that hard and your children will remember it forever and hopefully start their own tradition with their families when they grow up.

What you will need

  • 3 quarts popped pop corn (do not salt or butter it and it’s better to pop the day before, it stings a litter easier that way)
  • 2 quarts whole raw cranberries
  • 1 large spool waxed dental floss (you can use thread but it doesn’t string as easy and breaks easily)
  • several large crewel embroidery needles

Put everything in the middle of your table so that everyone can reach it. Thread a piece of sting about 1 yard long and start stringing alternating the popcorn and cranberries. Some of you may choose to make a pattern such as 6 pieces of popcorn then a cranberry or some may just stick the cranberries in whenever they feel like it (that’s how I do it! LOL). It doesn’t matter if everyone does it different the point is your doing it together! The goal is once you get enough to cover your tree just tie the individual stands together and drape it on the tree like garland. You can also use it to hang across doorways in your home or even put it outside.
I did find some Holiday Jar candle labels free from JOLLY TIME if you are interested just click here.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
