Adorable & Inexpensive Teacher Gift

teacher gift As parents we often struggle with the thought of what gift to give to your child’s teacher. Once the middle of August rolls around parents begin to get excited to send their kids back to school and begin to ready their kids with bed time routines and bags already packed!

It seems as if some parents are eager to show their appreciation to the teachers right off the bat while others wait for Christmas or Teacher Appreciation Day later in the school year. Whatever the reason for giving your child’s teacher a gift here’s an inexpensive gift any teacher will want to receive and any child can make!

What You’ll Need

  • 8×10 Picture Frame, no glass
  • Crayons
  • White Elmers Glue
  • Scrapbook paper
  • Sharp knife or exacto knife
  • Optional: decorations

To assist with your crayon breaking layout head to Word or Open Office (download for FREE!). Simply type the letter you need and make sure to make change the font to the size you think looks best with your project and make sure to BOLD it!

If you have a simple letter start laying your crayons out on the paper.

I found it best to lay a crayon out on the paper and mark it before I made the cuts. Once the letter was layed out on the paper, I then glued every piece down. Once my daughter and I had it completed, we thought it looked a bit plain. So we had my preschool write her teachers name and made it a little girlie with the butterflies!

Your child could decorate the frame as well and personalize to showcase your teachers hobbies! Go on and get creative!

Total Cost: You can pick up a inexpensive frame at the $1 store. Elmers Glue and Crayola Crayons will be on sale for about $.25-$.50 beginning in August. Scrapbook paper is typically $.10-$99. For less than $2 you have a personalized Teacher Gift!

*Note: Using scrapbook paper is a better alternative than construction paper since it’s thicker. If you don’t happen to have any scrapbook paper you can use a card stock.
