Ice Cream….Ice Cream…We all Scream for Ice Cream!!

How many of you love eating ice cream??? We do at our house and we absolutely love making our own at home!! What if I told you there was an educational toy available that helps kids learn about heat transfer and freezing points all while having a ball!! The best thing is after your done with your learning/play experience its then time to have a snack!!

When I was a little girl I used to love when we would pull up at my Grandma and Grandpa’s house and I would see all my cousins running around and playing in the backyard and right on top of the picnic table was the much used ice cream maker. It was big and bulky and noisy and we all loved it!! It made the best ice cream ever!! It seemed to take forever and we weren’t allowed near it.

With all those memories, I really wanted to make our own memories and what better way than the Original Play and Freeze Ice Cream Maker! My kids could learn and have a ball at the same time. I have a 12 year old and an 18 month old so anything that pulls the two of them together for playtime is great and Mom and Dad can get involved too!! I took the ice cream maker out of the box and when my daughter walked in the door from school I kind of tossed it to her. She looked at me like I was crazy and asked what it was. I said well its time to play and have some ice cream. She absolutely loves to piddle and make anything in the kitchen.

So we pulled out the Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream & Dessert Book and picked the Banana Strawberry recipe (great way to get your kids to eat their fruit) and started at it. The ice cream maker was quite noisy as it raced across our hardwood floor but it was pretty hard to notice with all the laughter and talking going on.  We are a family of four and our ages range from 18 months to 52 years old and every single one of us had a great time!! We all sat in the floor and rolled and rolled and rolled the ball some more. Alicia learned some scientific facts, we had a great time and then we all had a wonderful snack.

Mindware carries the Ice Cream Maker and the Ben and Jerry’s Ice cream book along with many other educational toys. You can find them on facebook or twitter to keep up to date on all their great toys.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free for my honest opinion.  Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
