We have been in the market for a new camcorder and I have been researching online for the best deals and boy is there a ton of information out there. There are a few things that I am looking for and I want to make sure I get the best bang for my buck!! We all like to save a dime don’t we??

What to Look for When Buying a New Camcorder
Battery Life: Oh boy here is a really important thing to keep in mind when purchasing a new camcorder! Your at your little ones recital and it’s time for your little princess to show off her wonderful talents and you are waiting for that precious little smile and BLEEP……..the battery goes dead. The moment is ruined and you will never have that priceless piece of footage to upload to youtube for your family to see. It’s the worst case scenario but it happens all the time. Plan plan plan and know the life of your battery to avoid this problem at all cost. After all, what good is having a camcorder if it’s not available for that big moment!!
Microphone Connector: Sound quality is a must when purchasing a camcorder. A little extra out of pocket charge will be well worth the cost when you are trying to watch the little one recite the Gettysburg Address and all you are hearing is Grandma Henrietta behind you blowing her noes!! Trust me quality matters in this case!
Resolution: Sometimes resolution is listed in lines or pixels, either way when it comes to resolution more is definitely better. You are wanting these videos to last for years to come and the more visually appealing they are to watch the better!
Still Photo Shooting: This is not an all out must have but if you are not wanting to lug around a camera and a camcorder it works out great. One thing to keep in mind is that the still photo shots are not usually up to par with a nice camera but can save a little wear and tare on your back, especially if you have kids in tow.
While searching online for some great deals I did find a site that had some pretty awesome camcorders at reasonable rates at toroappliance.com. They offer a great variety of items at all different budget ranges and include all the accessories to go along with them. I find it awesome when I can find everything I need from one store without having to hunt and peck to find what I need with my camcorder. They have an added bonus of adding on a two or four year warranty and they also use paypal which is very convenient for me.
